Slovene National Meeting, 8 April 2007

 

On 8 April 2007, Prof. Matjaz Klemencic, CLIOHnet2 coordinator assisted by his colleagues from the History Department and the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Maribor, organised a Slovene National Meeting including historians from Maribor, Ljubljana, Koper. Information on CLIOHnet2 and CLIOHRES was given. The organisers illustrated how the work of the Networks can be of use in the current stage in University reform, both in teaching and research. The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities was present.

The meeting was followed by a press conference with the Rector of the University of Maribor Prof. Ivan Rozman and the head of the teachers and scientists union Janez Stergar. There were fifteen journalists present; the press conference led to articles being published on all major Slovene newspapers and two transmissions on Radio Slovenia.
